Machine tap with stepped shank (overflow tap) for pipe threads G 1/8 to G 11/2 (Whitworth pipe thread to DIN/ISO 228), the special cutting edge geometry reduces the cutting forces and ensures an ideal chip flow. The tap is for blind holes, as the chip is conveyed out of the hole by the spiral.
