Mechanical and electronic edge finderEdge finder are used in connection with spindles of cutting machines. They allow the edge of a workpiece to be aligned and thus enable dimensionally accurate machining. tosag offers you probes with different shaft diameters. The assortment ranges from edge probes with a shaft diameter of 10 mm to tools with a diameter of 20 mm. You will also find styli with different tips. Cylindrically shaped probes are suitable for edges, probes with a tip are used for holes. Furthermore, there are probes with non-magnetic ceramic tips, hardened contact balls or carbide tips.
A distinction is made between mechanical and electronic edge finder probes. Mechanical probes make physical contact with the workpiece and are suitable for rotary machining. These probes can also be used for virtually all materials, from wood to plastic and metal. Electronic probes, on the other hand, are only used in combination with materials that are conductive.
