Edge finder and zero point systems for machining technology from tosag

When machining workpieces with milling cutters, drills and other cutting tools, precision is essential. Holes, edges and cuts must be made exactly according to the plans in order to guarantee a high-quality result. In production, continuity is also of the utmost importance. However, consistent results can only be guaranteed if the tools and machines work precisely. This is where the zero adjusters, feelers and centring devices from tosag come into their own. You will find the right setting devices for all tasks in machining technology in the tosag range.

Mechanical and electronic edge finder

Edge finder are used in connection with spindles of cutting machines. They allow the edge of a workpiece to be aligned and thus enable dimensionally accurate machining. tosag offers you probes with different shaft diameters. The assortment ranges from edge probes with a shaft diameter of 10 mm to tools with a diameter of 20 mm. You will also find styli with different tips. Cylindrically shaped probes are suitable for edges, probes with a tip are used for holes. Furthermore, there are probes with non-magnetic ceramic tips, hardened contact balls or carbide tips.

A distinction is made between mechanical and electronic edge finder probes. Mechanical probes make physical contact with the workpiece and are suitable for rotary machining. These probes can also be used for virtually all materials, from wood to plastic and metal. Electronic probes, on the other hand, are only used in combination with materials that are conductive. They also allow the measurement to be carried out with the spindle at rest. These probes from tosag are characterised by their high accuracy, which is up to 8 ?m.

Measure bores and shafts quickly and accurately with a centering device.

Like the probes, the centering devices are also mounted directly in the spindle. The sensors on the centering device are interchangeable, allowing you to perform different measurement tasks. A centering device is designed to measure cylindrical bodies, bores, holes and similar objects. During this measurement, the center point is determined in addition to the size. You can easily read the determined values from the dial gauge.

Zero adjuster for milling machines and similar machines

With a zero setter it is possible to prepare a workpiece for drilling or milling. The zero setters have a metal base so that secure positioning on the object to be machined is ensured. The zero setter is then used to align the drill or mill. The dial indicator shows you the current alignment and allows for very accurate centering. The accuracy of these zero adjusters is +/- 10 ?m.
